Michael has been an authority on travelling for over 18 years. Whilst he’ll happily jump at the opportunity to put together any kind of itinerary, he has a real knack for coordinating boutique, independent holidays. He enjoys planning complex holidays for schools, sporting and community organisations and is also renowned for his excellent corporate travel skills.
With such a vast and varied portfolio, it’s no wonder Michael is the successful Store Manager of the esteemed North Adelaide store. Michael believes it’s his genuine passion for travelling and the desire to share it with others that has seen him carve an enviable career in the industry.
“I am hugely passionate about travelling and am always looking for new places to visit and experience to further my knowledge,” he says. “I really value my clients and always want to deliver them a unique and memorable holiday.”
It’s safe to say, he’s doing a good job at developing his travel repertoire. He has explored majority of Asia, has many a travel tale from the USA, and can expertly advise you on Canada. He knows of some of the most beautiful spots to wine and dine in Europe, and knows how to appease the adventurous types, dune safaris in the Middle East or heli-hiking in New Zealand.
If you’re a sport fan, ask him about the time he watched his home football team play in the desert of Dubai. For those who enjoy a touch of luxury, ask Michael about the best place to stay in Abu Dhabi. If you’re feeling lucky, Michael can devise an itinerary that will have you rolling the dice until the sun comes up in Las Vegas.
Michael says you don’t have to travel far to experience something unique, though. “I can highly recommend a stay at Cradle Mountain Lodge, in Tasmania,” he says. “The day spa is a must, if not for the world-class treatment itself, for the views.”
If this Travel Manager had to choose just one favourite destination? Thailand. “You can’t beat its beautiful pristine beaches, the fantastic resorts, delicious food, diverse culture, rich history & warm Thai hospitality,” he says. We can’t help but wonder if he is biased though, as this is where he celebrated his honeymoon - in a 5-star boutique at the famous Sarojin resort. “We were treated to a surprise dinner, by a jungle waterfall,” recalls Michael. “Imagine this: a private table, lit with hundreds of candles, amidst a secluded part of the jungle, right in front of a spectacular waterfall. It was one of the most special and memorable moments of my life.”
