Dane absolutely adores the opportunities that travel affords. “Whether it be Rome for its history, Tahiti for paradise or Cambodia for its people.... travel to me is the most wonderful experience a person can take part in and that is exactly why I surround myself in it every day.”
Dane began his journey in the travel industry at just 11-years-old, cooking and making beds in his parent’s accommodation business. After helping manage the operations of the family business Dane spent 12 years working in hotels across the world, which is when he realised his true passion for travel.
Now with over 10 years’ experience creating dream holidays for clients, he has a wealth of expertise to share. From quick luxury escapes to long complex itineraries, Dane has done it all. “I have tailored many experiences for clients, some journeys up to three months of travel time. Every single day offers something special and an exciting experience to create.”
He doesn’t shy away from challenging bookings either. In fact, that’s his passion: “creating challenging, world-class itineraries to all regions of the world with everything included.” “I work on 30 to 60 day itineraries weekly as I specialise in tailor made experiences.”
So where did Dane’s passion for travel begin? “My very first overseas experience was on a school exchange to Japan, living with a host family a few hours outside of Tokyo. Being from a smallish country town in New South Wales, Japan blew my mind... I knew from the moment I returned that travel was in my DNA and would be a huge part of my life forever.”
Today, Dane has a Bachelor of Business majoring in Tourism and has travelled to over 35 different countries around the globe.
“I just love to explore and experience as much as a city and destination can offer. The back streets of Venice, the remote beaches of French Polynesia and discovering the quieter sides of Central Park in New York... travel is just the best isn't it!”
His number one spot on the map? “Banff – it’s just so majestic and oh so beautiful.” But equally lifechanging was his overwater villa experience in Bora Bora. “It is the ultimate definition of paradise,” he says.
For Dane, it’s also about the people. “My favourite holidays are those where you have the perfect mix of relaxation, culture, sightseeing and a chance to meet new people – whether they be travellers or locals.” He also loves sampling the local food and beers.
Where’s next on his bucket list? “I truly hope to visit Lapland with my family. I want my daughter to meet the real Santa and Elves in an amazing winter playground. Africa is also huge on our agenda.”
