The holiday season continues for the luckiest out there, who occasionally have the misfortune (if you can call it that) of hanging around airports with nothing to do but wait until it's time to get in another line. But many airports are now offering live music so weary travellers can actually enjoy spending hours in their terminals.
Cafe Nero in London's Heathrow airport will be presenting live music as the holiday season wraps up. Four different artists will perform concerts to help ease that pain of air travel. Cafe Nero will host live performances until January 17.
In the US, the city of Austin, Texas, is known for its live music and the airport is no exception. Music In The Air features six live music stages right inside the terminal, allowing passengers to get a taste of the city's music.
Since 2012, Seattle has been hosting the Experience the City of Music Program to showcase the city's music culture. The program was awarded the Best Arrivals Experience by the Future Travel Experience Awards.
There are live performances seven days a week throughout the terminal. You can also check out the Pearl Jam concert poster exhibit. It has 85 posters from 30 artists on display.
Nashville, Tennessee, often referred to as Music City, certainly couldn't be left out of the musical experience at the airport. It has four stages located in the terminal offering a broad range of music genres.
Around 80 to 100 bands perform yearly. The airport also offers exhibitions of visual arts.
